College life

You may feel that college life is boring. We do not know how to deal with the plenty of spare time. But I think the college life will become wonderful as long as you make it meaningful. In your spare time, you could play basketball, football and so on. Doing sports is very interesting and good for your health. In fact, you can do anything which you are interested in.Do not be nervous.We are friends. Studying in college is a brand new start of our life.You can continue to study hard for the better scords. Libary is a good place for students to study in. If you want to show your talents and skills you can join in all kinds of activities. In a word,college life is wonderful!

PUBLIC SMOKING SHOULD BE ILLEGA The most prominent memory of my trip to Europe in 1983 was not the excitement of traveling abroad for the first time but the discomfort of flying in a smoke-filled airplane for almost six hours. Even in the non-smoking section, I was coughing and choking during the entire flight. And whenever I had to use the restroom, I had to hold my nose as I passed through the smoking area to the lavatory. If I ruled the world, I would certainly outlaw cigarette smoking in all public places. Fortunately for smokers everywhere, I don't rule the world. Nevertheless, I fully support the idea behind the New York State legislature's recent bill to ban smoking in all restaurants in New York State. According to the New York Times, officials in both houses of the legislature say the legislation is "very close to fruition." California is the only other state I know that has banned smoking in restaurants and bars, and despite the predictions of some restaurant owners, I haven't read any reports that restaurant attendance has fallen off significantly since the bill passed. Why should it? Food is a necessity. People need to eat. Assigning designated smoking and non-smoking areas in restaurants is not enough. Smoke travels quickly beyond the imaginary boundaries set up between tables and booths. As a patron, I should be able to enjoy my meal without choking on someone else's smoke. The same is true in bars and nightclubs, although I would exercise more legislative restraint in this setting because dancing and drinking are not as essential as eating. Still, why should I have to endanger my lungs just to go dancing? I would ban smoking on public sidewalks and streets as well. What you do in the privacy of your own home is your business, but once you pollute the rest of the world with cancer-inducing toxic fumes, it becomes the government's business. I'm tired of asking people to put out their cigarettes or asking waiters to patrol the boundaries of their restaurant's smoking section. So if this new bill becomes law, as I hope it does, non-smokers will finally be able to enjoy their restaurant meals without having to police the artificial lines of separation that divide the two sections in restaurants.

The college life is wonderful. All life in school are fresh. New teachers, new classmates and fresh friends are around me. I’ve felt their friendship, wide knowledge and opening mind. The grand library, school buildings and wide playground are very attracting to me. I am very eager to learn much knowledge quickly. In high school, I was ever called as a runner before time. Now,I know I am behind time so much in fact. I hope to catch up with the time by my hard studying. Every day, you can see me get up early, doing exercise hard and go to school the first one. At night, I am the one who leaves away the library. The most interesting thing is that I can’t speak the PUTONGHUA well and made many funny events at the beginning， as I am from South. When I entered the classroom at first time, I was headache as I couldn’t understand what the professor was speaking. I met much difficulties at math, physics and other courses, even though I used to be good at these sciences. Therefore, I learn these courses myself after class. After three months, the exmination indicated that I overcame all the difficlties. I also improved my listening and spoken ability of Chinese quickly. Communication is very important to my college life. I study English hard as well. It makes me have many chances to communicate with foreigners. I made friends with many foreign teachers and students. From them, I learn many knowledge about foreign cultures. The computer room is another place I like to staying. I contact the outside world by the internet. All the News, advance science, and the information about internal and outside of China.

Life is a long,long journey. College life is the most beautiful movement in my life. This time of life is cheerful and enjoyable. At university I learn to recharge my battery and reposition myself. Learning is one thing that goes though all one’s life, and the circumstance of university is quite in favor of study. So how could not I absorb more and more knowledge at my prime time for learning? As for me, to some extent, I learn much from my classmates and lecturers who filled with rich knowledge, especially from my roommates, They play a paramount important role on my English study. We get up early to read English and chat with each other in English.Therefore my English improves a lot. Even more I meet many people who like to learn, which is the way to make an interesting sacial experience and develop communication skills with them. Meanwhile I equip myself with knowledge Also, I learn to be strong and brave. In the past I was so timid that I can’t speak to strange persons. When I was in trouble, I felt frustrated. What’s more, I can’t make myself adopt to the new surrendings. But now when I meet with difficulties and failure, I on longer turn to others for help because I know that a person who can help me in the future is myself and the poor situations improves as well. And I also remember the saying the best has been made even better. I will think twice why I will fail and I will try my best to find out the reason, not to be blue or disappointed. I also know the true meaning of tolerance, consideration and forgiveness. Furthermore, I try to do something that I am not interested in. This society appreciate all-around person. Just like British statesman W.Churchill put it, “it is no use doing what you like, you have got to like what you do.” Now I take to life at university like a duck to water. I always consider that inside each and everyone of us at the very core of our being is a winner wating to be awaked and unleashed upon the world. I will keep persuiting. Otherwise how can I awaken my inside winner? 10
