楼上自己写的是正解。那个模板，劝你不要用，除非你想让收件人把你当XX。不过楼上最后much thanks语法错误哈，应该是many thanks. 其实很简单的：
Dear Dr.(Prof)(国外很重视这个称呼的，如果不是Professor不要乱叫，一般PhD肯定是有的，所以叫Dr. 就好了)，
My research field is XX and I am doing XX right now. I am willing to take XX paper as a reference which can not be accessed from my available database. Can you do me a favor send me a copy or tell me where can I find the whole article? I will really appreciate your kindness

很简单几句话吧。Dear professor X，i will （very）appreciate it if you can send me this paper ：文章发表的杂志号，题目。I cannot find it in our library's database，and it means a lot to me。Much thanks。还可以再短点。自己发挥写一句两句就行吧。
