克莱蒙特小镇，地处洛杉矶市区以东30英里的San Gabriel山脉脚下。除了林荫小路和历史建筑，小镇尤其以它的核心区域——七所高校组成的Claremont Colleges学区而闻名，被称为“The City of Trees and PhDs"。
Claremont Colleges中除了5所(Pomona,Harvey Mudd,CMC,Pitzer,Scripps)实习非常强的本科文理学院之外，两所之一的克莱蒙特研究大学也是一所美国顶尖的的私立精英级研究型大学。
